Sankhuwasava is the district located in the eastern region of Nepal.
This district is surrounded by the different natural resources. It is
also one of the major destiny of the tourists. The headquarter of the
sankhuwasava district is Khandbari. The fifth highest mountain of the
world Mount Makalu lies in this district. Similarly the lowest valley of
the world Arun Valley lies here too.
There are many natural heritage and temples in this district. The temple of the Manakamana Godness lies in the Tumlingtar in which the only one airpot of this district is located in this place. The Makalu Barun National Park lies in the sankhuwasava district in which there are many species and natural resources including the endangered species like red panda. This park is also the major destiny of the tourists.
The major places of sankhuwasava district are Khandbari, Manebhanjyang, Tumlingtar, Chainpur, etc. Chainpur was the previous headquarter but later on it was moved to khandbari. There is only one court in this district which lies in chainpur. Chainpur is famous for its “chainpura karuwa”.
The major occupation of this district is agriculture. About 60% of the people are involved in agriculture.The developing works are going on increasing in this district. Nowdays many banks and offices are being increasing. The banks that are eastblished in this district are Rastiya Banijaya Bank, Nabil Bank, Khandbari Development Bank, Ace Development Bank, Agriculture Development Bank, Sanima Bank, etc. The district has its own radio station Named “ Khandbari Fm.”
The district has different religions , language. The main religion in this district are Rai, Limbu, Chhetri, Sherpa, Tamang, etc. The main hotels located in this district which is suitable for the tourists are Arati Hotel, Barun Hotel, Rajeeb Hotel, etc.
Manebhanjyang, which is also the major place of this district is very important place for tourists as aell as for sports. Every year between the gap of Dashain And Tihar Football game is organised. Manebhanjyang is the developing area of this district where the development works are going on increasing. The “Advanced Club” of Manebhanjyang is very popular in the district. It has its branch in Kathmandu also . This club mainly organises football match and also helps in the development works in the community.
